Congratulations to 5th Grader Timothy Wilcox, Candlewood Elementary’s Superintendent’s Shining Star!

Timothy is the kind of student who makes everyone feel valued. Each day, he greets his teachers, peers, and staff with a warm smile and a simple question: “How is your day going?” He regularly holds doors open for others and respectfully responds with “Yes, ma’am” and “No, sir,” showing respect for those around him. Whether it’s a fellow student or a teacher, Timothy’s thoughtfulness creates a positive atmosphere and his ability to treat others with kindness is a model for all Eagles.

Timothy’s commitment to his academic success is just as impressive. When the bell rings for lunch, Timothy doesn’t rush to eat and play. Instead, he makes the most of his time by diving into his studies as soon as he finishes his lunch. This kind of dedication has earned him a spot on the A honor roll. Timothy understands the importance of setting goals and staying on track, and he does so with an intrinsic motivation that sets him apart from his peers.

Timothy also invests in others. Whether at school or in his community, he is always looking for ways to give back. As a member of the National Elementary Honor Society, he volunteers for service projects and makes a positive impact on those around him. He is involved with his church, where he volunteers and takes on tasks like mowing the grass and helping with parking lot repairs. His willingness to pitch in wherever needed shows his dedication to making his community a better place.

Outside of school and volunteer work, Timothy enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys spending time with his dad fishing and playing football and baseball. He also has a special place in his heart for his two-year-old sister, whom he helps care for regularly. When he’s not volunteering or helping his family, Timothy enjoys watching action-adventure movies and comedies.

Timothy exemplifies the JISD Leadership Definition. He treats others with kindness and respect, plans for his success, and invests in those around him. Whether it’s through his academic achievements, his service to others, or his dedication to his family and community, Timothy inspires all Eagles to be their very best!
